Retiring Board Member Ray Martin swore in the seven new Board Members on January 6, 2010.

The Edmonds Senior Center is currently governed by a Board of Directors which was elected for the first time this last year.
SCSC Board of Directors 2009
It’s a first for South County Senior Center! It took bold leadership, perseverance, a lot of work, and a lawsuit, but democracy prevailed. In 2008, a core group of members of South County Senior Center (SCSC) won the right to elect the board of directors. Thus ended several years of tension between the “Old Guard” and newcomers seeking a more responsive board.
On January 7, 2009, Judge Jeff Goodwin to the left in the photo was gracious enough to conduct the swearing in of twenty-one new board members.
Under the terms of the Center’s new bylaws, the general membership elected eighteen new Directors in November 2008 and three community leaders where appointed by the Board to round the number to twenty-one. Board members’ terms are staggered, so some positions will be elected every fall.
A new Exectutive Director, David McNayr was hired and new activities and classes were put into motion. Excitement is definitely in the air at South County Senior Center (SCSC). So come early and stay late and enjoy all the services that SCSC has to offer.
