In February and March of 2025, the South County Senior Center hosted two successful community forums that brought together members, staff, and design professionals to share ideas and discuss the future of the center.

Presentations were delivered by edmSTUDIO and the South County Senior Center staff, offering insights into preliminary design concepts, space needs, and priorities gathered from community input. These forums served as vital opportunities for attendees to engage directly with the planning process, ask questions, and help shape a shared vision for a vibrant and inclusive senior center.

In the fall of 2025, information was provided by edmSTUDIO comparing 112 Amherst Rd., Sunderland, MA and 8 Conway Street, S Deerfield (with renovations, and not being a new build). The South County Senior Center Board of Oversight felt 8 Conway St., S Deerfield was not a viable location due to the cost, the lack of parking, the lack of green space, and shared this information during Community Forums and during their meeting on March 23, 2026 during a tri-town meeting with the Finance Committees and Selectboard Members for Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately (video can be viewed starting at 48:05 here).
